Art Basel Miami Beach 2019: unveiling Lessons of the Hour single-screen

After having its ten-screen version presented by institutions such as SCAD and MAG Rochester, Lessons of the Hour: Frederick Douglass will première at Art Basel Miami unders the auspices of Metro Pictures Gallery. Isaac Julien's film installation will be part of Miami Basel's Kabinett section, which brings together a concise selection of installations within the booths of the Galleries and Editions sectors. 

Selected by the NYT as a standout exhibition on the occasion of its debut in New York earlier this year, Lessons of the Hour poetically revisits the legacy -and the undeniable relevance to current times- of one of the world's most prominent and eloquent abolicionists.

Metro Pictures' presentation at Miami Basel's Kabinett also includes photographic works from the series.
